Napper secure final go-ahead for major retail expansion
26 March 2013
Napper Architects have secured the final go-ahead for a multi-million pound expansion to their award winning Dalton Park in County Durham.
Following a recent High Court Judicial Review, the expansion project will now proceed under the planning permission granted by Durham Council in March last year with work commencing on detailed design and satisfying the planning conditions. It is anticipated that the construction will start on site within a year and take twelve months to complete.
Since opening in 2003, Dalton Park has become one of the region's top retail destinations with sales and visitor levels increasing year on year. The £35m project will complete the site's regeneration programme and will include a food store, cinema, restaurants, petrol station, hotel and pub all designed by Napper Architects and in accordance with their overall master-plan for the site.
