Napper submit Darlington Office development for Planning Approval
13 June 2018
Napper Architects have submitted proposals for a major new-build office development in the centre of Darlington for Planning Approval. Feethams House is to be developed by the Council to attract new business and provide a significant employment opportunity into the heart of town centre. Sitting within a strategic business location, it is the final major development of the Feethams area, following the success of £9million Bishopsgate House for the Department of Education, also by Napper Architects, the adjacent retail and leisure development and the new Riverside Walk.
Over 30,000 square feet of Grade A office accommodation is to be provided in the five-storey building set within a new landscaped piazza providing high quality public realm within the town centre. The design will embody the Council’s own drive to reducing carbon emissions with a BREEAM target rating of Excellent.
Tim Rainford, Director of Napper Architects said: “We are delighted to continue our successful collaboration with Darlington Council and Willmott Dixon on this exciting project which will see further major investment and the provision of high grade office space and within the town centre”
Subject to finalising the external funding, construction is due to start on site later in the year with Willmott Dixon Construction delivering the project through the Scape framework.
